Alleged PA Kidnapper Arrested In Texas: Authorities

The man who broke into a Reading home last week and tried to kidnap a 26-year-old woman is now in police custody, according to officials.

Yusuf Scott, 27, was arrested in Amarillo, Texas on Sunday, Nov. 19, Reading police said in a release.

Authorities have claimed Scott tried to abduct a woman at gunpoint from her Windsor Street home on Thursday night, Nov. 16.

The victim was able to escape safely. Reading police said they executed search warrants at "multiple locations" around town before Scott's arrest on Sunday.

He is charged with burglary and kidnapping, police have said.
